Kenya is currently conteplating an attractive but tricky offer by Qatar, where the latter government asked Kenya to lease it 40,000 hectares of land to grow crops as part of a proposed package that would also see the Gulf state fund a new £2.4bn port on the popular tourist island of Lamu off the east African country. Isaiah Kabira the spokesman of President Kibaki said the proposal is seriously being considered.

There are two side of a coin. I think the move for Qatar to invest in Lamu will create jobs, bring in revenue. Lets look on the brighter side what good will come out of the qatar investment.
